SHADY COVE LOGO

The goal of this project was to rebrand the current logo of the small Southern Oregon town, Shady Cove. The city council wanted an updated and modern version of their logo to appeal to a younger demographic to visit Shady Cove. The clients wanted to highlight the natural beauty that surrounds the town to attract tourism while also holding their small town values and local community close to them.  

In my research, one of the things that stuck out to me was that Shady Cove was founded by the timber industry in the early 1980’s. I was also inspired by the natural beauty and outdoor recreation the town has to offer. Positioned as the gateway to Crater Lake National Park, and the scenic backdrop of the Rogue River, Shady Cove has a plethora of outdoor activities to attract visitors and locals alike. The trees surrounding the area, and the history of the timber mill is what ultimately influenced the design for the new logo concept.
